I am passionate about teaching. For me teaching is a creative act. I am at my best when I am also learning as I teach. Teaching as research. In this section you can read more about my approach to teaching.

Workshops and Classes that are open to the public

I teach open classes and workshops in The Feldenkrais Method, Contact Improvisation and something I call BodySchool in which I combine many of the somatic forms that I know in a longer one-week workshop. What I mean by "open" is that these events are open to the general public and anyone who is interested can sign up.

Sometimes I organise these events myself and sometimes they are organised for me by an individual or an organisation. On this site can find a list of upcoming open workshops and classes. Feel free also to contact me if you would like to organise an open public workshop for me.

Workshops as part of professional performing arts education in Universities, Academies and Colleges

I have taught in many different educational settings and at a variety of levels, from vocational trainings to degree and masters level in universities and academies. Since my background is mostly in the performing arts, much of my teaching work until now has been in this field too. On the Performing Arts page you can read more about where I've taught and what kinds of courses I can offer in this context.

Somatic Movement Education applied to other disciplines

I am also keen to explore how somatic movement education can be applied in other disciplines. I call this area of my work "Applied Somatics". So far I have been invited to give somatic movement courses to psychotherapists, psychologists and physiotherapists. I also taught a multi-disciplinary seminar for one year at Helsinki University. (The BodySchool project has also attracted participants from non-performing arts disciplines who are interested in how a deeper knowledge of self through physical experience can enhance their professional skills.)
