While many of the somatic disciplines that I work with are available to the general public, my work with many of the forms that have arisen purely within Post-Modern Dance has convinced me that they have something to contribute to a wider audience.
In the last couple of years I've been actively seeking opportunities to work with people outside the performing arts. I call this aspect of my work "applied somatics". Its aim is to see how some experience of somatics can support the practice of other disciplines.
Below in brief is a list of work that I have done so far - in more detail when I have time to write more! My interest in this field is also reflected in my desire to set up BodySchool - a somatic movement education open to everyone.

The is course is for professional whose work somehow involves touching their clients but whose education doesn't address the issue - doctors, dentists, teachers for example. It aims to give an experiential introduction to different qualities and depths of touch and open the student's awareness to what and how they might be communicating through touch. more...
A multi-disciplinary study group of under- and post-graduate students who met one evening a week. Students had backgrounds in aesthetics, furniture design, textile design, graphic design, language teaching, architecture, philosophy. The weekly meetings alternated between practical sessions which I led and student presentations followed by discussions. The starting point was a consideration of Richard Schusterman's "Somaesthetics".
